bookweek 350Book Week is celebrated in August each year. The promotion of a love of reading is evident throughout the school and is contagious as parents encourage their children to read and help them find books to meet their children's interest and enjoyment.

Every second year at Sacred Heart, we hold a Book Fair, which usually includes a wine and cheese night and children's entertainment. It provides a wonderful opportunity for parents to socialize, buy from our wide range of resources and support Caritas and the school library. Events such as this are a great way to build school community and are enjoyed by all.

Premier's Reading Challenge
Each year all students are encouraged to participate in the Victorian Premier's Reading Challenge. This is a great way to encourage a love of reading whereby children can choose books from a wide range of shortlisted books for their age group. Certificates are given to those who complete the challenge of reading 30 books (Prep-Grade 2) or 15 books (Grade 3-Grade 6).
